My Story

I spent decades learning how to heal myself. Now I'm here to walk alongside you.

I want to tell you something most wellness brands won't.

I didn't arrive here polished. I didn't wake up one day with a clear vision and a perfectly curated self-care routine. I arrived here through decades of survival, self-discovery, and an unshakeable belief — even in my darkest moments — that I was loved and that healing was possible.

"Ubodhi means U Awaken. I chose that name because awakening is exactly what this journey asked of me — and what I believe it's asking of you."

My story begins in West Branch, Michigan — a small town, a chaotic early life, and a body that learned very young to carry things it shouldn't have had to carry. By the time I was a teenager, I had already developed a complicated relationship with food and with my own body — one that would take me nearly three decades to heal.

At 16, I got my first glimpse of what healing could look like. I worked for a general surgeon in my hometown, watching people move through pain toward recovery. Something ignited in me then — a quiet, persistent knowing that health and wellness would be my life's work. I just didn't know yet what form it would take.

The long road through corporate America

Life had other plans first. At 28, I found myself building a career in corporate event planning — and I was exceptional at it. For 24 years, I worked in corporate finance, orchestrating flawless experiences for everyone in the room. I knew how to take care of every detail, every person, every need.

Everyone's except my own.

I was the woman running on empty. Competent, capable, and quietly depleted. I had spent years in and out of conventional therapy looking for answers that never quite landed. What I didn't yet know was that the healing I was searching for wasn't going to come from outside me — it was going to come from learning to listen to my own body's ancient wisdom.

The turning point

In 2023, I made the scariest decision of my life. I walked away from a 24-year career with no safety net and no clear plan — only a deep, unignorable call toward something more aligned with who I actually was.

I found Ayurveda. And then I found myself.

I went back to school, earned my certification as a holistic health coach, and began understanding — for the first time with real clarity — why my body had responded the way it had throughout my life. The years of struggling with food. The times I'd pushed through when I should have rested. The ways I'd given everything to everyone and left nothing for myself. Ayurveda didn't judge any of it. It simply offered me a map.

"I overcame things I was never supposed to overcome alone. But I did. And now I know the path — because I've walked every step of it."

Why Ubodhi exists

Ubodhi was born from everything I wish had existed for me — a place with no noise, no filler, no one-size-fits-all prescriptions. Just honest, accessible, deeply personal tools for women who are ready to choose themselves.

If you've tried conventional approaches and felt like something was missing — I understand. If you've spent years taking care of everyone else and can barely remember what your own needs feel like — I've been there. If you're carrying things from your past that have shaped how you live in your body today, you are not alone, and you are not broken.

You are, in the most beautiful sense of the word, awakening.

A little more about me

I'm 53, fit, endlessly curious, and deeply in love with this world — I've traveled to five continents and counting. I'm single, rooted in Michigan, and building something I believe in with everything I have. I bring all of who I am to this work — the hard parts and the healed parts equally.
